The McDonald Dance Academy

The McDonald Dance Academy, Burscough, Lancashire

Founded in 1970 by George & Ann McDonald, the McDonald Dance Academy and is now run by their daughter Maureen. The school has taught many children and adults to dance, from beginner to professional, from medallist to championship.

There are many different dancing circles, whether you are a social dancer, or want to take your gold medal in dancing, competition dancer, or whether you want to take professional exams in ballroom and latin American dancing, or a primary school dancing project, our school can help you on your way.

We teach Ballroom (Waltz, Quickstep, Foxtrot, Tango, Viennese Waltz), Latin American (Rumba, Samba, Cha Cha Cha, Jive, Paso Doble), Classical and Modern Sequence Dances, Argentine Tango, Salsa, Ballroom & Latin American Formation Teams, Street Dance, Jitterbug/Rock N Roll, First Wedding Dance. We are a team of 7 professional teachers and 7 student teachers.

Friends of McDonlad Dance Academy is now a registered charity, raising funds to help underprivileged dancers with their dance costumes and shoes. Enabling them to get onto a competition dance floor, and feel part of a team. 'Friends' are also raising money for the dance studio restoration project.
